At the age of 7, Hany Mukhtar was recruited into the German Youth Academy, Hertha BSC. The Berlin native spent his childhood rising through the team’s ranks. He captained the club's U-17 squad to a Championship title in 2012. The following season, Mukhtar made his professional debut with Hertha BSC, making him the second youngest professional debutant in the club’s history. He went on to play for Portugal’s Benfica and Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg and Brondby in Denmark before joining Nashville SC. 

In 2019, Mukhtar became the first designated player for Nashville SC franchise history with the MLS club building the team around the #10 midfielder. Mukhtar has been involved in over half of Nashville SC’s goals in club history and is the all-time leader in club history in goals and assists. Hany is the 2022 MLS MVP and the Golden Boot Winer.
